IMO the contents in the "versatility" section are design philosophies which directly address this aspect. For example, availability of tools and libraries for many different use cases addressed versatility and doesn't address constrained devices, or a short learning curve, vendor/technology independence etc. 

In the intro the three design philosophies constrained devices, ease of use and versatility were mentioned, so perhaps they should be the first sections? In this order?

The sections are deliberately not ordered here so that they don't dictate order of importance (although still there's some implication). There's been some rework on this already between me and @tcschmidt, so it's hopefully getting more stable, but are there any other changes in order you would suggest?
