Option 1:
You mean I should measure the current when the regulator is on and when it is off?
So if the current does not increase significantly, we keep the regulator enabled all the time?

Option 2:
To really know if the regulator is required when the board is powered only by `V_Bat`, I think I would have to remove solder bridge (156) that connects `V_DD` with `V_Bat` on my `nucleo-f767zi` and then connect a coin cell with `GND` and `V_Bat` pin to power the board.
