    I think I had a similar problem once when trying to flash the
    arduino-mega2560. If I recall correctly, I think I fixed this by
    updating my avrdude tool to a new version (build it from their
    master). My current version is 6.2-20151117 which works fine under
    Linux Mint 17. Maybe you give that a try?<br>

                              created by the tapsetup script).<br>
